Happy New Year From Leaders Edge!
January 4, 2021

2021 is going to be a great year for us all, we just need to believe, hope, and put those intentions out into the world for it to come true as the days and weeks unfold.

Last year, you may recall us writing about how your thinking creates your reality. I wanted to subtly remind you of that as we embark on a new year that your thinking will define how this year plays out for you no matter what the circumstances are.

“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language. And next year’s words await another voice.” T.S. Eliot

Your words and actions are defined by your thinking. Everything you do in both your personal and professional life is defined by what you give your attention to, your attitude and your thoughts.

We do have a choice. Our thinking and the choices we make are really the only thing we can control.

What do you want this year’s voice to say to you and others?

Will you allow the negative self-talk to take over or will you empower yourself by choosing to think and look at life differently?

I am an eternal optimist and will never apologize for that as it has helped me through some of the most difficult times of my life. It is a choice that I choose to make ever day and I do the work to help retrain my brain and mindset, so that I look at life through the lens of what is possible vs. impossible.

In December, we also wrote about the power of setting intentions and focusing on what you can control.

Focusing on what you can control means that you are conscious of your thinking and, in turn, are choosing to behave in a way that you deem the most appropriate for you and for those around you.

Leveraging your EQ and social sensitivity to the best of your ability will also lead to more productive outcomes.

The bottom line is this. You have one shot a life so why not live it in the most productive and positive way possible?

What is the vision you have for yourself this year? Have you set some intentions for the year so you have a compass to guide you in your journey?

When we have a life vision it gives us something to work towards. It gives us clarity, so we can go through our days knowing we are working towards what we want and what is profoundly important to us. This clarity of direction helps us be more intentional in making the right decisions and choices for ourselves.

Our Intentions & Vision For You

Our intention for you is that we all make peace with our past so we can move forward with confidence, enhanced knowledge, and a new perspective.

All our lives were negatively impacted last year because of the virus, and many of us experienced tragic losses of family members and loved ones due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances. A lot of not-so-great things happened last year but a lot of other amazing things did, too. It is in the memory of those we lost that we must keep going and have faith that there better times are ahead.

Our lives will never be the exact same again, so choose to focus on what you can control. Our vision for you is that you will experience a much happier and fulfilling year ahead.

Anything is possible. You just need to believe it and take action. That is what leads to change.

We cannot wait for life to work for us. We must work with what we have and explore new possibilities.

What Are You Looking Forward to this year?

I hope that you are as excited as I am about this new year.

Regardless of how you are entering this year, I believe that we are being provided with new opportunities to live the lives we want while becoming better human beings and leaders.

Ultimately, it is up to each of us as individuals to choose how to take the next step. For those of you who are taking those steps alongside me, I am forever grateful.

I am excited to keep this conversation going, so I encourage you to reach out via email at joanne.trotta@leadersedgeinc.ca or by phone at 1.855.871.3374.
